WELCOME from the Principal
On behalf of our school faculty and parish
administration, I would like to welcome you to St. Mary’s Catholic School.
We are proud to be the parish school of St. Mary’s Catholic
Parish in St. Clair Michigan.
At St. Mary’s Catholic School, our mission is to
form the mind, body and soul within a faith-based community.
We have provided a quality Catholic education for the children of this
area for over 100 years. Our faculty is Catholic, educated
and dedicated. We offer numerous programs to meet the needs of
the whole child including challenging academics, athletics and
fine arts. We expect our students to treat people with respect
and to take responsibility for themselves, reminding them that
they and others are made in the image of God.
As a Catholic school, we are firmly
grounded in Catholic faith and tradition. Our students celebrate
Mass weekly and have Religious instruction each day of the week.
Each day begins with prayer. We welcome students of all faiths
as we gladly share the Good News
of Catholic Christianity with
others.
We are your partner in the education of your child.
More
information on Mr. Gary Tomlin, our school's new principal, will
be coming soon.

Why a Catholic School Education? |
The tradition of the Church has always seen Catholic
education as a process of forming young people into
disciples of Christ Jesus. The mission of a Catholic
school is understood as part of our obedience to the
commandment of the risen Christ to “Go and make
disciples”. The Church believes and teaches that parents
are the primary educators of their children in faith and
morals. St. Mary’s School exists to assist parents in
the promise they made to God and the Church on the day
of their child’s baptism: “To train their child in the
practice of the faith, and to bring them up to keep
God’s commandments as Christ has taught us, by loving
God and our neighbor.” Our educational approach and
purpose is therefore very different from that of a
public school. In addition to setting high academic
standards in all subject areas, we are committed to
forming disciples who will witness to the world the
truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in both word and
action. We know that we have been commissioned to
transform the world; bring reconciliation and healing to
a world damaged by sin. We exist to make saints because
we recognize that our citizenship is in heaven.
